A limited edition silk scarf printed from an original oil painting by contemporary artist Dasha Bough. Featuring an illustration of a character from Bough’s in-production animated series, a firebird dancer. The character is an adaptation of a famous character in Russian folklore (Zhar-ptitsa).
The style of the piece pulls from two clashing worlds: the lush, flowing Ballets Russes look of Léon Bakst, mixed with the hard-edged, worker-driven Constructivism of Liubov Popova, Aleksandra Ekster, and Vladimir Tatlin.
Each scarf is a unique work of art that is part of an ongoing film and animation project by Dasha Bough.
