The Icarian Factory Necktie

$95.00

Material: Silk Charmeuse. 100% silk. 5in wide x 88in long. 1 of 1.

A limited edition silk scarf printed from an original oil painting by contemporary artist Dasha Bough. Featuring an illustration of 2 characters from Bough’s in-production animated series— a factory woman by and a Icarian night performer. There is a theory in the Icarian state that they are the same woman, just with one look by day and one by night.

The style of the piece pulls from two clashing worlds: the lush, flowing Ballets Russes look of Léon Bakst, mixed with the hard-edged, worker-driven Constructivism of Liubov Popova, Aleksandra Ekster, and Vladimir Tatlin.
